Sense is very proud to announce the release of a new cdr, to be given away with the next issue #25.

"Bed / Hot Rod" (SENSE CD12) is a 2-track EP by the now defunct Philadelphia-based band Legend Of Boggy Creek. Fronted by Marc Manning, now in Everything Is Fine, the band released an awesome full-length album in 1999 and then it disappeared completely. "Bed" and "Hot Rod", two lengthy instrumentals taken from that debut and last album, could fall into any category you'd want them to belong, be it post rock, ethereal or avant-garde pop; but you could just as safely say that they're made of the same mystery dreams are made, rather than music.

The EP will appear in a handmade white-carton fuzzy wallet with inlay on transparency and will be given away with initial copies of Sense #25. The new issue is expected to appear in mid-July and it will be dedicated to singers / songwriters, featuring Beth Orton on the cover and stories about Rivulets, Simpatico, Wilco, Piano Magic, Migala, Richard McGraw and many more.

One of our very favourite bands, Spokane, are about to release their third album, after last year's excellent "The Proud Graduates", which was featured on our list with our 10 best albums of 2001. The new album is called "Able Bodies" and to mark the occasion, we've uploaded the interview we did with Spokane's Rick Alverson in October 2001 in the Music section. More interviews will be uploaded soon!

We're soon going to be 3 years old and hopefully we'll celebrate this birthday with a surprise along with our next issue expected as a mid-May publication, featuring The Breeders on the cover! Watch this space for more details!

Last year's interview with Grant-Lee Phillips
is already online as of last week, and today we're very proud to add the interview we did with Thalia Zedek
in summer 2001. Thalia Zedek, formerly of many legendary bands such as Come, Uzi or Live Skull, will be in Athens to play live sometime in May - this will be something not to miss!

Valentine's Day: Lovely or lonely?

Whatever you feel like, we're very proud to announce that Sense teams up with the two excellent fanzines Tegel and Carousel for a night full of love-songs and hate-songs. Hate-songs, of course, are "I'm-in-love-actually-but-I-don't-admit-it" songs, as you all know.

The event will take place (you've guessed it) on February 14th, in the Muller Cafe (Em. Benaki 62 / Exarheia) at around 10pm. Bring your lover or just your heartbroken self. We'll take care of anything else.
January 31, 2002

The new issue of Sense will be published towards mid-March, featuring Lambchop on the cover. The band are about to release a new album "Is A Woman", which finds them in a perfect wistful and nostalgic mood. Last time we counted, the band consists of 12 members, all of whom will appear on the cover of the new issue, which will make it the most populated cover in the history of "Sense". In fact, they look like a football team, with Kurt Wagner being the coach.

Other attractions include features about Tanya Donelly, Chris Cacavas and many many more.

New website coming soon as always!

This year will also see a few music releases as well, more news when they come - but it's going to be a busy year.

As ever, the most heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support!

The new issue has a double cover, one of them featuring Red House Painters like you've never seen before, and no, this doesn't mean that they're naked.
