| Tomorrow's Tastemakers Today In last year's rock saga Almost Famous, a soulful Zooey Deschanel told Patrick Fugit that if he listened to the Who, he'd see his future. These days it's Zooey's future that looks bright. This month she dons "lots of orange suede" in the comedy The New Guy; later she'll trade barbs with an A-list ensemble cast in Big Trouble and examine teen angst in the mental-ward drama Manic. It's quite a hat trick, even for the daughter of a movie veteran (her father, cinematographer Caleb Deschanel, was Oscar-nominated for The Patriot). "My dad filmed us growing up, so I'm used to being in front of the camera. It's comfortable. My whole life has been documented, even the awkward stages."
