This ultra-cool, quirky actress has more movie roles, hobbies and talents than anyone else we know - and that's why we like her.

If being popular means having to conform, actress Zooey Deschanel, 22, would rather be an outcast. But that's why we think Zooey, who plays a kidnapped teen in April's comedy Big Trouble, and who also stars as a "geeky girl in a funk band" in May's The New Guy, is so interesting. "I was labeled a 'theater type' in high school, which made it hard to fit in and feel part of things," says Zooey, who went to her junior prom alone and didn't have a boyfriend until she was 18. Not that she hasn't been busy. "I like doing creative things," she says. Apart from appearing on-screen, Zooey performs comedy sketches with friends, sings old jazz and country tunes, and plays piano and baritone ukulele (for real!). Even when she's hanging in her trailer between takes, the girl is drawing, knitting, or crocheting (she made hats for everyone on her last set). "I'm blessed with a lot of energy and stamina," says Zooey. "I can't stand sitting still - I went to a spa once with my mom and I was like, 'Get me out of here!'"
