A new issue of "Sense" is on the way, only that this time it's going to appear a little later than usual. We're really sorry if you were planning to be outside "Vinyl Microstore" on November 15th at 7 in the morning and wait patiently until the shop opens to get your copy. We would be really happy to say that we'll compensate your wait with a new music release, but erm, there's not going to be a cd this time. And we'd tell you who's gonna be on the cover, but we haven't decided upon that either. In case you're still interested to know when that issue will show up (thank you to all four of you), let's announce that it's going to be published sometime during the last week of November. People on our mailing list will be sent another one of our wonderful mass e-mails when the time comes. Sorry for the discomfort and thank you for your patience!

Sense greets the autumn season with a new issue, featuring pieces on exciting new music and,as always, articles about older, beloved stuff. In this issue, we turn back time to the late '80s / early '90s, to remember the brilliance of what was then called the shoegazers' scene. There's also features about The Meeting Places, The Post, Titania, Angelmark, Shelflife Records, Sciflyer, Devendra Banhart, Benicassim Festival 2003, The Impossible Shapes, Jorma Whittaker and many many more, guaranteed to keep you great company while the first raindrops start to pour!

The first 100 copies of Sense #32 come with a cdr split-EP "Places We've Been" by Titania and Angelmark, featuring two songs by each act.
Click here to see the CD cover art in detail. Titania, formerly known as The Sensualists, are the project of Mandy Cousins and Michael Turner, two artists who have been making dreamy and mysterious music for well over a decade. "Pan Angelica" and "Pale Sister" are taken from their latest album on Resplendent Records, two songs to carry you away by their emotive power and sensual force. Anglemark is an instrumental project by Michael Turner of Titania, where nostalgia gets translated into music and wistful melodies. As a whole, "Places We've Been" is a 20-minute journey into ethereal thoughts and haunted dreams, managing to sound like the long lost side of the Cocteau Twins' and Harold Budd's 1986 masterpiece "The Moon And The Melodies".

Sense #32 is now out and you can get your copy either from Vinyl Microstore, Athens, or by sending us a
message.

While you were lazily sunbathing, enjoying the beaches and the blue seas, watching sunsets on small islands, feeling the breeze caress your faces and taking boatrides, we, the Sense team, were working hard to prepare a new issue! And it's almost here! Sense #32 is expected to appear around September 15th, making for ideal reading to welcome the first autumn rains or to kick off the new year in school. And dreamy as the moods are, not only we have a big shoegazers' special and My Bloody Valentine on the cover, but we are also immensely proud to announce a new cdr ep: "Places We've Been" is a split EP by Titania and Angelmark featuring 2 tracks by each. Titania is the band of Mandy Cousins and Michael Turner, who have been making music for well over a decade, and Angelmark is a project run by just Michael, on instrumental compositions. The result is pure sonic bliss and "Places We've Been" isn't but a tiny sample of their body of work. The EP will be a limited edition and will be given away along with initial copies of Sense #32. More details on the EP and the new issue will appear very soon!

You might remember The Post as one of the bands that appeared on our best albums of 2002 list with their debut cd "Backwards"; or you may remember them from their participation on our recent CD compilation "In A Sense" with the excellent song "Where Can I See My House From The Satelites". Now, we have the great pleasure to give away a The Post 4-song ep entitled "No Show" (SENSE CD20), featuring all previously unreleased material. The obscure landscapes that the band created on their debut album "Backwards" are now coloured with somewhat summery, even exotic, colours while they continue to display their dark edges and emotive powers. Featuring Scout Niblett on backing vocals on opening song "At Rest", "No Show" EP is a big treat for anyone into bands such as Husker Du, Slint or The For Carnation. All songs on the ep are previously unreleased, and with the exception of "At Rest", they are not to appear on The Post's second album, due later in the year. "No Show" will be included in initial copies of Sense #31. The new issue will be available on Friday 18 July at the usual spots and from this website. Sense #31 features Inspiral Carpets on the cover and includes pieces about, among many others, this year's Primavera Sound Festival, Radiohead, Sciflyer, Lisa Germano, My Morning Jacket, The Smashing Pumpkins, and, naturally, Trembling Blue Stars. It is pretty obvious that it makes for ideal summer reading and you shouldn't start your holidays without getting your copy! Let us give our greatest wishes for a wonderful summer to all of you!

Exactly four years ago, the finishing touches were being put on a 48-page music zine made like a collage of texts and pictures, using the traditional "cut and paste" technique. It all looked so primitive, the pictures cut out of line and the photocopy adding several levels of fuzziness (Glen Johnson of Piano Magic has made the best comment yet - "This picture of ours has been photocopied so many times that we look like aliens"). One week later, on April 15th 1999, the first issue of Sense appeared on the shelves of Vinyl Microstore, and the rest is, erm, history. So yes, it's our fourth birthday, and as ever, we feel we cannot thank you enough for your love and support all these years. To mark the occasion, we're planning a big surprise for the next issue, we'll announce details when they're final, but yes, it will be something round-shaped with a hole in the center that can be put in a cd player and produce music.

For the time being, we'd like to draw your attention on a gig that's going to take place on May 3rd in Athens: Fosca will be playing at An Club supported by The Real Tuesday Weld and Nixon, in an appearence destined to break all popsters' hearts! We've made a brand new feature in our
music section, where you can read an interview with Dickon Edwards of Fosca, download one song off their recent album and win a cd single!
