SPY KIDS 3-D: GAME OVER

Released: July 25, 2003

I fumbled with the 3-D glasses but after less than stellar 3-D results I gave up and watched the regular 2-D offering that also came with the DVD. The film concentrates so heavily on the needless 3-D gags that story ideas take a backseat. I still enjoyed this third installment but "Game Over" is easily the least of the "Spy Kids" trilogy. Robert Rodriguez deserves points though - he's relentlessly good at doing many jobs on the set and in post. But that might be a negative - he also released "Once Upon A Time In Mexico" months after "Game Over" hit theatres. Maybe he needs to concentrate on just one film and farm out some of the other jobs to other crew members...
