BADGE, THE

A low budget straight-to-video Billy Bob Thornton vehicle that, as you can tell by the poster image above, was known as "Behind The Badge" in some countries. A sheriff (Thornton) begins an investigation into the death of a local transsexual after hearing that high ranking politicians may have been involved. Although he is homophobic, his investigation causes him to be rejected by others, forcing him to seek help from the people he once despised. It's an obviously low key entry in the world of cinema but Thornton and Patricia Arquette make it worth a look. Also starring William Devane, Sela Ward, Julie Hagerty, Jena Malone and Thomas Haden Church who made an impression in 2004's "Sideways" with Paul Giamatti.
