Mention novelist Elmore Leonard and the chance to make a movie out of a book of his and a bunch of actors you know jump to star in it thinking it'll be their "Out Of Sight" or "Get Shorty". So, in other words, actors like Owen Wilson, Morgan Freeman, Charlie Sheen, Willie Nelson, Gary Sinise and Harry Dean Stanton were hoping for a hip con movie to elevate their careers. The result is a confusing muddling of a plot without much going on to keep you interested. Some minor scenes of amusement but this is a million miles away from the far superior "Miami Blues" and "Grosse Pointe Blank", which George Armitage directed previously. Scenes of a young-looking Bridget Fonda bikini-clad actress named Sara Foster help in the eye candy department but otherwise it's not very memorable...
