MEN OF HONOR

Released: November 10, 2000

A true story is served well with this inspirational film that demonstrates why Robert De Niro is brilliant and how Cuba Gooding, Jr. is proving he is an actor sure to go onto greater success in Hollywood. Knowing the story is based upon a real life incident makes it even more affecting. This is the movie I'd reccomend people see over "Remember The Titans" when it comes to a historical racial storyline with good intentions. While the Denzel Washington starring "Titans" was too Disney-ified for my tastes, "Men Of Honor" delivers a fine role model of a message that would be perfect for our youth to see despite the R rating given for course language that kids already know and use now anyways. Charlize Theron also stars (but her role feels like as if it were tacked on for no reason. It certainly doesn't add anything or clarify anything to the story).
