Based on a true story, Veronica Guerin was a real reporter in Ireland who wrote about druglords taking over the country's youth. She paid a high price for her journalism though... Guerin is played by Cate Blanchett, who is stunning here. She is a true great in her profession and her skills are on disply here to great effect. This movie may as well been titled "The Invincible Veronica Guerin" for all the risks she took but in the end, she actually changed the laws regarding drugs in Ireland and that is pretty amazing. It's a story worth learning about and director Joel Schumacher delivers very nicely.
