"Hide And Seek" initially starts almost like a M. Night Shyamalan mystery thriller but quickly veers into barely fit for direct-to-video quality. How on EARTH did such good actors get sucked into this pit of badness? Is this how Robert De Niro wants to be remembered? Does Dakota Fanning REALLY want to kill her career at age 11? Certainly Famke Janssen could find a better indie movie to star in? And Elisabeth Shue returns to a theatrical release in THIS dreck? Other actors in forgettable and demeaning roles include Dylan Baker and Amy Irving. It's good Steven Spielberg already divorced Irving because after seeing "Hide and Seek", he'd certainly want to. Can I say ONE good thing about this film? It got ONE star higher than Shyamalan's "The Village".
