SWEET HOME ALABAMA

Released: September 27, 2002

A young woman (Reese Witherspoon) with a white trash background runs away from her husband in Alabama and reinvents herself as a New York socialite. If you thought 2001's "Legally Blonde" from Witherspoon was lite cinema then "Sweet Home Alabama" is ultra lite entertainment. Witherspoon is, of course, the main reason to see this movie and she does not disappoint. She is quite possibly the next actress to really topple Julia Roberts off her mega-salary pedastal. If you enjoyed "Legally Blonde" then why not give "Sweet Home Alabama" a shot too. Also features Patrick Dempsey (recovering from a recent box office drought) plus Fred Ward, Mary Kay Place and Candice Bergen. "I Am Sam" (2001) child star Dakota Fanning plays the younger flashback-aged Witherspoon...
