MAN ON FIRE

Released: April 23, 2004

Ridley Scoot's little director brother Tony returns with a film so brutally violent that it sometimes makes "The Punisher" seem G-rated. In Mexico City, a former Marine (Denzel Washington) swears vengeance on those who committed an unspeakable act against the family he was hired to protect. After developing a bond with the family and their daughter (Dakota Fanning), who ends up getting kidnapped, he becomes a terminator-like machine, stopping at nothing to bring each and every bad guy to his justice (death). If you thought Denzel Washington was ruthless and nasty in "Training Day", just wait til you see him kick ass here! The whole cast, especially Washington and Fanning, are great. Scott's visual style is haunting and the music from Lisa Gerrard ("Gladiator") is spellbinding. Also starring pop star turned actor Marc Anthony, Aussie Radha Mitchell ("Pitch Black"), Giancarlo Giannini, Rachel Ticotin, Mickey Rourke and cameo actor for hire Christopher Walken.
