SPY KIDS 2: THE ISLAND OF LOST DREAMS

Released: August 7, 2002

You'd think a sequel to the decent "Spy Kids" might suck but Robert Rodriguez has directed himself a second part that is actually more fun than part one! Plot is made fun by pitting our two spy kids Carmen and Juni (Alaxa Vega and Daryl Sabara) against another duo of young spies while trying to save the world again. The kids are joined by part one's parents Antonio Banderas and Carla Gugino with returning characters played by Steve Buscemi, Mike Jedge, Danny Trejo, Cheech Marin and Alan Cumming as Fegan Floop. It's a colorful and fun movie - a James Bond for kids who can't get into "XXX" yet but still entertaining for adults too. Co-stars Emily Osment (Haley Joel's sister), Christopher McDonald and Bill Paxton. Director Robert Rodriguez not only directs he produced, wrote, scored, did cinematography, edited and created FX among many other duties. This workhorse director does it all because he loves making movies - and it shows in the fun that translates off the screen for kids of all ages!
