Pretty much an muddled mess of a story that attempts to be cool but ends up as a pile of undecipherable crap. A DEA agent (John Travolta) investigates the disappearance of a legendary Army ranger drill sergeant (Samuel L. Jackson) and several of his cadets during a training exercise gone severely awry. How did Travolta and Jackson end up in this thing and when is director John McTiernan going to do another genuine kick ass movie like "Die Hard"? I bet "Rollerball" is better than "Basic"!
