The cover art of the DVD shows a bunch of demonic red-eyed sheep with the tagline: "it's not nice to mess with Mother Nature". Well, it certainly SOUNDS like a horror movie of some sort. I sat down to watch and was surprised to see Jena Malone (whom I like from such fine movies as "Contact" and "Saved!"). Malone stars as a young girl who returns home to bear an illegitimate child, and witnesses an environmental accident involving a genetically modified crop of corn. Doubted by the community she has returned to, she questions her own sanity as she tries to discover what is happening. So, rather than a horror movie, we are given a combination of a junior "Erin Brockovich" meets father-daughter bonding experience. Not quite compelling but watchable for Malone alone.
