WHERE THE TRUTH LIES Released: October 7, 2005 Even though it has major (or semi-major) Hollywood stars like Kevin Bacon, Colin Firth, Alison Lohman and Rachel Blanchard, this movie is essentially a Canadian-content exercise from arthouse director Atom Egoyan. The whole main cast bravely disrobes at various times for very explicit sex antics. The film was originally slated for an NC-17 rating in the US but rather than cut anything major out Egoyan chose to release the film without a rating at all there, which most theatres shy away from screening. The story? A female journalist (Lohman) tries to uncover the truth behind the breakup, years earlier, of a celebrated comedy team (Bacon and Firth) after the duo found a girl dead in their hotel room.
