DODGEBALL: A TRUE UNDERDOG STORY

Released: June 18, 2004

Ben Stiller returns to the silver screen after an absence of almost TWO MONTHS (remember "Envy"?) with his 38th film of the past year. While the concept of "Dodgeball" is slight and the comedy comes at the expense of your intelligence, there are a few minor quality laughs here. Peter LaFleur (Vince Vaughn) is a charismatic underachiever and proprietor of a rundown gym called Average Joe's. Peter's humble gym catches the eye of White Goodman (Stiller), the egomaniacal owner of Globo Gym. White intends to take over Average Joe's, and Peter's non-existent bookkeeping is making it all too easy for him. How to save the gym? A showdown dodgeball competition against Globo Gym - naturally. Will be much funnier at home on DVD, rather than $13 on the big screen. There's Stiller wearing a fat suit ranting to the viewers of the film at the end of the closing credits, if you care to hold out that long.
