DAY AFTER TOMORROW, THE

Released: May 28, 2004

Ahhhh, "The Day After Tomorrow", the latest Hollywood disaster movie. It was beautiful to look at, especially during the scenes of flooding as the northern hemisphere was overtaken by a new ice age. But after that there wasn't anything going on except scenes of people trying stay warm in a library by burning books. Kind of a anti-climax ending too. But in real life terms, this was a good hit against head-in-the-sand governments that refuse to acknowledge global warming and its effects on our weather. There was some OK acting from OK B-list actors like Dennis Quaid and Jake Gyllenhaal but otherwise this is a movie to see on the big screen, at least the flood scenes which are at the front end of the film. The rest is kinda TV movie of the week quality... A Roland Emmerich "film".
