William H. Macy *is* the Cooler - a guy with such bad luck that casinos employ him to stand at tables of winning gamblers to effectively cool their win streaks. Like Philip Seymour Hoffman was the loser gambler in "Owning Mahowny", Macy is the loser casino employee who just can't catch a break - until he falls in love, with another casino employee (Maria Bello). A fine film that features Oscar nominated Alec Baldwin plus Ron Livingston, Paul Sorvino and Estella Warren (way to go, Peterborough girl!).
