A sort of "Risky Business" for this generation. But rather than take the best of that earlier classic, "The Girl Next Door" is silly and, at times, offensive to one's intelligence. Elisha Cuthbert, who is perfect in "24", prostitutes her "talents" here in an attempt to break free from her clean cut TV role. The Tom Cruise-like character is played by Emile Hirsch, whom I've never heard of before. There are a couple inspired moments but otherwise this made me want to watch "Risky Business", a much better "teen dares to walk the wild side while parents are away" movie than this one...
