HOLLYWOOD HOMICIDE

Released: June 13, 2003

Director Ron Shelton, fresh from his February 2003 box office dud "Dark Blue" (it WAS a good movie though) returns a mere four months later with a lighter buddy cop/action movie starring Harrison Ford and Josh Hartnett. Shelton delivers a standard flick about two LA cops, one a stiff veteran who sells real estate on the side (Ford), the other a youngster who teaches yoga and aspires to be an actor (Hartnett), who attempt to solve a murder case involving big time rappers. It's not quite up to "Lethal Weapon" standards but there was enough action (good car chases) and the sheer charisma of Ford goes a long way to keeping this one afloat. You're best bet is to go rent "Dark Blue", then go see "Hollywood Homicide" when everything else is already rented at the video store.
