COLD MOUNTAIN

Well, I saw Cold Mountain. All 2.5 hours of it. Essentially a love story inside a shell of a story about a guy going AWOL in the American Civil War, it is OK by romantic standards and violent enough for the action fans. Nicole Kidman is just damn cute, period. The rest of the cast, and I reluctantly include Jack White of The White Stripes, is very good. Is it Best Picture material? No. Worth a watch on DVD? Yes...
