LADYKILLERS, THE

Released: March 26, 2004

The Cohen brothers - Joel and Ethan - have always managed to attract good actors to their films right from "Blood Simple" in 1984. But at some certain point around 2000's "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" it became a status symbol to appear in their films. Which brings us to "The Ladykillers", for the inevitable Tom Hanks movie from the Cohen's. Easily the least of their output, this movie is a remake of the 1955 comedy, the story revolves around a Southern professor (Hanks) who puts together a group of thieves to rob a river casino. It's low on the Cohen ratings but that's still better than most director's efforts these days. Also starring Marlon Wayans.
