WILLARD

Released: March 14, 2003

Not exactly a horror movie, this remake of the 1971 original is more of a character study of a Norman Bates-like guy living with his demanding mother. Crispin Glover plays the Bates kind of role to a tee. He has a crappy home life and a crappy boss. The rats that he somehow tames and trains are merely a backdrop to Glover's internal frustrations that ultimately form a dark revenge story. Great support from R. Lee Ermey and Laura Harring. Worth seeing for Glover, who is used wonderfully here. A good actor, so seldom seen.
