A depressing look at the sub-culture of the stock market just like "Glengary Glenn Ross" was a depressing look at the sub-culture of the sales business. In fact, "Boiler Room" (from director Ben Younger) is literally an homage to "Glengary Glenn Ross". Filled with an array of bright young talent like Giovanni Ribisi, Vin Diesel, Scott Caan and Tom Everett Scott, "Boiler Room" shows how relentless greed overtakes and erodes these young men's basic sense of morality. Ben Affleck has a cameo playing this movie's version of the Alec Baldwin character from "Glengary Glenn Ross" to great effect. I liked the movie but as good as it was it kept reminding me of the superior "Glengary Glenn Ross".
