A bunch of ex-Harvard Lampoon writers wrote this and the humor is definitely of that Harvard/National Lampoon variety. The movie itself is actually pretty funny but still makes "National Lampoon's European Vacation" seem like a very funny comedy. In fact, the movie would have benefitted by adding the very National Lampoon-flavored and emotionally gratifying deleted scenes back into the movie. The lovely Michelle Trachtenberg ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series) is the biggest name here but keep a lookout for a shaved-headed Matt Damon as the singer in the band.
