I, ROBOT

Released: July 16, 1004

Alex Proyas has directed movies like "The Crow" and "Dark City" - very beautiful movies that pull you into totally different kind of world. "I, Robot" is no different. Based upon ideas found in a book by Isaac Asimov, "I, Robot" is what "Terminator 3" should have been more like. A *real* rising of the machines is found here! In the year 2035 a techno-phobic cop (will Smith) investigates a crime that may have been perpetrated by a robot, which leads to a larger threat to humanity. It's mindless summer movie fun but even at its most base, the images on the screen are always incredible to watch. Will Smith offers up a nude scene to boot. The movie grossed an astonishing $52,179,887 in its opening weekend, suggesting we could be in for a sequel or at least more movies based on books by Asimov. It's not a great movie, but for summer fun at the multiplex, it does its job well. Also stars Bridget Moynahan, James Cromwell and Canadian actor Bruce Greenwood.
