50 FIRST DATES

Released: February 13, 2004

Adam Sandler plays a man who falls in love with Lucy (Drew Barrymore), a woman with short-term memory loss. Therefore, Lucy never remembers Sandler and this proves to be a pain for him as he always has to gain her back every day. This is the second time Barrymore and Sandler have been paired together in a romantic comedy and the chemistry is obvious here. While not as engagingly funny as the earlier flick "The Wedding Singer", it still has enough charm going for it to keep it flowing. The film has its fair share of goofball comedy but their is actually a fair bit of seriousness in telling the story of someone living with short-term memory loss. All in all, worth a look if you're a fan of the prime players and supporting cast made up of Rob Schneider, Sean Astin, Dan Aykroyd, Maya Rudolph and Sandler regular Allen Covert.
