HIGH HEELS AND LOW LIVES

Released: October 26, 2001

A nurse eavesdrops with a friend on a cell phone conversation that describes a bank heist. She and the friend then conspire to blackmail the robbers for $2 million. The two women are played by Minnie Driver and Mary McCormack (who played Howard Stern's movie wife in his "Private Parts" bio pic). Directed by English comedian Mel Smith (who also gave us 1997's "Bean", the George Lucas epic "Radioland Murders" from 1994 and the brilliant Jeff Goldblum film "The Tall Guy" from 1989. This is a fine, light and all-around entertaining movie with the bubbly exuberance of Driver and McCormack. I definitely suggest you rent this after being disappointed by the big players on the new release rack.
