Jim Sheridan's somewhat auto-biographical story of his journey from Ireland to America is both sugary sentimental and richly affecting. Told from the point of view of Sarah, the young daughter of struggling parents played by Samantha Morton and Paddy Considine, "In America" is a moving portrait of a new family in a new country. If you don't well up a tear or two during this film, or if you cried during "The Return Of The King" but don't during "In America", you should go rent "Too Fast Too Furious".
